At ResumeHowl, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We wrote this in plain language because legal pages should not require a law degree to understand.
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. This is the basics we need to create and manage your account.
When you use our service, you provide resume content (either by uploading a file or pasting text). This includes things like your work history, education, skills, and contact details. We store this content so we can generate your portfolio site and let you come back to edit it later.
If you upgrade to Pro ($29 first year, $49/year renewal), your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy. We only receive a confirmation of payment, your subscription status, and a truncated card identifier (like the last four digits).
We collect basic usage information like how many sites you have generated, when you last logged in, and what features you use. We also use Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about how visitors navigate the site (such as which pages are visited and how long people spend on them). This helps us understand how the service is being used and where we can improve.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your resume content for advertising. Your data is yours.
We rely on a few trusted third-party services to run ResumeHowl. Here is who they are and what they do:
When you generate a portfolio site, your resume content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to power the AI generation. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. Per Anthropic's API terms, your data sent through the API is not used to train their models.
Stripe handles all payment processing for Pro subscriptions. When you enter your payment details, that information goes directly to Stripe. We never handle or store your full card number. You can review Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they manage payment data.
We use Supabase for our database, user authentication, and file storage. Your account data and resume content are stored on Supabase's infrastructure. You can review Supabase's privacy policy for more information.
We use Resend to send transactional and account-related emails (such as welcome emails, billing confirmations, and service updates). When we send you an email, your email address and the message content are processed by Resend. You can review Resend's privacy policy for details.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data through cookies. It does not collect your name, email, or resume content. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google processes this data under their privacy policy.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from automated abuse. When you interact with a protected form, Turnstile may collect your IP address and browser interaction data to verify you are a real person. This data is processed by Cloudflare under their privacy policy.
Here is specifically how your data is protected:
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are transparent about the measures we take and we will notify you promptly if a breach affects your data.
We use a small number of functional cookies to keep the service running smoothly, plus analytics cookies from Google Analytics to understand site usage. We do not use cookies for advertising.
For the full details on what cookies we set and why, see our Cookie Policy.
You have the right to:
If you need help exercising any of these rights, contact us or email hello@resumehowl.com and we will sort it out.
We keep your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, resume content, and generated sites promptly. Some records (like billing history) may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, but these will not include your resume content.
If your account is inactive for an extended period, we may reach out to confirm you still want to keep it before taking any action.
ResumeHowl is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 16, we will delete the account and all associated data, including any resume content, generated sites, and personally identifiable information.
